We will play at this theater for Ann Arbor Folk Festival. There are 10 more musicians besides us. Most musicians get 15min. to 20 min. slots except Taj Mahal since he is the last act of the Festival.
We are having dinner in the catering room at 5pm. The food is very good and this festival is well organized. Now, we prepare for our 20 min. sets. The question is which pieces we play to present what we are. |
|
Very, very good audiences they are! We start with "Melrose Ave" followed by "Zundoko-bushi". Then, "The Marsh" into "No.9" There was endless applause at end of No.9. Well, we played well and they liked us.
We finished with "Pipeline". For my surprise, Paul made the audience sing Happy birthday song for me. It was great to hear 1500 people are singing happy birthday. Just a little regret, my wife is not here. |
|
At the hotel, we had party after party. One was held in banquet room with other musicians and organizer. We had good talk with Taj Mahal's drummer. And then, in Paul's room, our good friends Mark and Lee brought nice SAKE and Vodka, and we had small birthday party.
Mark and Lee brought a nice cake for me. Thank you guys! |
